Crowns - Kissing Gate

Kissing Gate by Crowns

Strange one this. It sounds like The Pogues hanging out and making music with some pop punk act. Which either way you look at it is a damn fine idea or the worst idea since my uncle decided to cut his fingernails with a scythe. It's pretty upbeat and direct and you can imagine somebody somewhere enjoying it and pogo dancing around with their alcopops flying about...but you can also imagine some people cutting off their own faces and balls in protest at this potential musical crime. The second track also retains the same sort of vibe...a sort of jigging pop punk feel with whiskey soaked vocals...like Shane McGowan fisting Sum 41...I reckon that sums it up aptly.

• Crowns’ debut single, released on Shipwreck Records.

•    This Cornish Folk Punk four piece will appeal to fans of The Pogues, The Clash, The King Blues and Green Day.

• Available on limited edition vinyl 7” (500 copies only) and digital download.
