Baconhead make sci-fi beats to confuse your brain and the title of their 'Astro Sludge’ EP perfectly describes their sound. After their very well received 2010 digital EP 'Soap' (supported by Slugabed, Si Begg and Kid 606) they've teamed up with eclectic Dutch label Eat Concrete for a series of releases showcasing their sonic agenda. Inspired heavily by psychedelia, videogames and experimental hip hop, Baconhead have crafted an EP that offers a wealth of ideas and styles, using funk, sludge-rock and dubstep as main ingredients. Thankfully their attempt easily transcends any of these genres and manages to be refreshing and original at every beat. 'Astro Sludge’ combines meticulous production with a healthy dose of humour, resulting in a highly addictive set of music that leaves you wanting more.
