Merzbow - Surabhi

Surabhi by Merzbow

I can hear the total beauty within the chaos of t1, the mind melting churn of 1000's of micro-spasms of intricate noise particles vomiting over a distant warped non-melody or this looped giddy siren-like keyboard refrain. Glorious is this noise, mischievous, space-age brain junk with a strangely positive outsider glee! A positively mind-cleansing thing, this three piece suite is more playful than coruscating but be warned, it is still a wickedly abrasive journey he has here for you. If the sound of being dragged through digital glass and gravel by a busy level crossing where the trains and tracks were made out of sandpaper then have all this played through a megaphone appeals, please buy this CD, it is quite a remarkable, awe-inspiring listen. Second track has a cartoon zig-zag mid-range which serves as the groundwork for a ton of wibbling space-age madness & howling cavernous blurt to scree across your senses. A demented bulldozer of sound in da area. Finishing with a hurricane-like rush of crumbling dark ambient, twittering aural DNA and high-freq shriek, I'm pleased to report I've enjoyed my hour and a half of contemporary noise music today.
