Frightened Rabbit - A Frightened Rabbit EP

If you don't know who Frightened Rabbit are you've probably been living under a rock for the past few years. Two years into their career they've already had more plaudits piled upon them than bands many years their senior. On this EP there's three new tracks of their trademark Scottish folk-inflected indie rock. Opener Scottish Winds is a bouncy number, followed by the more downbeat 'Fuck This Place' (bit o' swearing in that first song too, actually...naughty lads), where horns and possibly bagpipes add a steady drone to the windswept boy/girl vocalled misery. On the flip there's a single longer track, 'The Work', which is more minimal and quiet and at its better moments recalls The Frames' poignant fragility. If you're already a fan of “the folk rock Snow Patrol” this EP will keep you satisfied until they have something new to offer. Likewise, if you're not already converted this won't do a thing to change your mind.
