An excellent five tracker here from the man Ed DMX. The title track has a wicked nostalgic melody you can imagine turning up on a Ghost Box record. It kinda reminds me of '4 3s 777' by The Black Dog. As expected the percussion hits the spot too with it's solid electro framework. 'RX5 Cassette Loop' is a quirky mid-paced techno stomper with a cheeky bassline and fat kick drum. 'TR808 Echo Beats' is a fine drum machine workout with a light smattering of effects and some pulsing lazer synths. Has a nice grubby and raw feel to it. 'Past Master' has a wee bit of an 'Analord' feel to it, it's a sweet tune with lush melodies and big singing bassline. Finally 'Goodbye Sparks' closes the EP in style again with some great melodies and good old party vibes. All tracks will work equally as well at home as they will on the dancefloor. A Cracking EP!
• A welcome return to DMX Krew, simply one of the UK's finest producers !
• Sounds like Analord turned up to 11 !
Ed DMX reminds us all he's still number one when it comes to beautiful, esoteric electronic music.
Still aimed squarely at the dancefloor, Ed provides us with a really strong and, as always, diverse package with something for everyone...
