Couldn't tell you much about Brain Fruit other than they are electronic duo Christopher Owen Davis and Jonathan James Carr. '1.1' is one of a number of other releases we've just received from Debacle records - a drone, electronic and ambient label with a taste for well designed and packaged CD's. '1.1' features seven untitled tracks of motorik electronic bliss all performed and recorded live with no overdubs. The opening track is a pulsating fusion of synth ambiance and crisp beats that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Elektron Machinedrums are used sparingly to create krauty Dinger-esque beats whilst analogue Moog synthesisers take care of the melodic structures, adding texture and atmosphere as they go. It certainly brings to mind the experimentation and melodic sensibilities of early Neu! recordings and has no qualms with getting cosmic if required. The rhythmic tracks are interspersed with beatless space-age interludes that as tranquil as they come, they hit on a Steve Reich vibe on a track or two and there's even a tune that touches on the quirky indie electronics of Radiohead's 'Kid A' era, which was a bit of a surprise. An intriguing album and a must for fans of Steve Moore, Neu, Emeralds, Eno and the like. Comforting, warm and spatial tones.

Brain Fruit is electronic duo Christopher Owen Davis and Jonathan James Carr hijacking the human transport and driving it into sustained temporal anomaly. A motorik synthesizer drum palette that smoothes your body into the choral liquid peripheral.

Album comes in a six panel wallet with insert.  The first edition also contains a Brain Fruit sticker.
