Baby Dee - Baby Dee Goes Down To Amsterdam

Baby Dee Goes Down To Amsterdam by Baby Dee

A fairy tale, by definition, is a short narrative that features folkloric characters such as fairies, goblins, dwarves, giants and gnomes. Hooray for Baby Dee! The nearest living musical creature to encompass all of the magic, otherworldliness and darkness needed to bring a fairy tale to life. Welcome the long awaited tale of 'Baby Dee Goes Down To Amsterdam'. Dee's second release of 2011 is a double CD that captures her travels across Europe with three of her favourite boys to a destination that's dear to her heart: Amsterdam. The recording is of particular importance as she performs here on her 'Rolls Royce choice of piano', the Steinway D Grand. A first in her vast collection of albums, this is a live recording for the Holland Festival of a performance at the magnificent Bimhuis - a world famous jazz venue surrounded by, and sitting on, water, with a beautiful cityscape as the backdrop. Accompanied by accomplished musicians John (Winky) Contreras (Current 93, Nurse With Wound) on cello, Alex (Wanky) Neilson (Current 93, Trembling Bells) on drums and Joe (Batchy) Carvell (Don't Move!, Devon Sproule) on bass.
