Ma Vie Banale Avant-Garde by Aids Wolf

Not been keeping up with Montreal's AIDS WOLF of late. Not even heard their last LP 'March To The Sea'. I hang my head in avant-shame. If you know the group you may have some idea of what to expect from 'Ma Vie Banale Avant-Garde'. Inspired by free jazz, modern composition, 20th Century opera, minimal music and garage rock, as well as the zonal carousing of North America's musical underground, AIDS WOLF still find it difficult to conceal their most glaring influence, that being the atonal fudge and perverse arrogance of Arab On Radar. There have been minor line-up changes over the years and a new focus on electronics is apparent nowadays but 'Ma Vie Banale Avant-Garde' still sounds very much like 'Yahweh Or The Highway'. No bad thing though. Fucking love 'Yahweh Or The Highway' and I'm pretty pleased with this too. Excellent avant-noise punk business.

•    Montreal’s AIDS Wolf are very proud to announce the release of their fourth album and first double LP, titled ‘Ma Vie Banale Avant-Garde’.

•    The album was recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, WA and produced by AIDS Wolf.

•    AIDS Wolf’s influences include free jazz, modern composition, 20th Century opera, minimal music and garage rock, as well as the zonal carousing of North America’s musical underground.
