Ed Hamilton - Behind The Clouds

"Ed Hamilton is a musician from South West England. Having extensively studied the use of computers in sound generation, Ed became increasingly disenchanted with his austere computer experiments and felt the desire to reconnect with the acoustic instruments that first fuelled his love of music.

He currently uses his collection of Max/MSP patches, coupled with a variety of acoustic sound sources, to create multi-layered compositions that blend melody and traditional instrumentation with shimmering electronic pulses and drones.

‘Behind the Clouds’ is the most recent embodiment of this study, which began on Ed’s MA, where long form compositional methods allow complex narratives to unravel, revealing an inherent naturalism, buried within layers of sound.

The EP is dedicated to Zoë, a friend of the artists who tragically passed away at the start of this year."
