I Would Not Know The Devil by The Fresh and Onlys

4...according to our on Wed 14 Sep, 2011.

London's Sexbeat label lucks out with a 7" from San Franciscans The Fresh And Onlys. You are probably familiar with Tim Cohen's main squeeze as we've had a ton of stuff by them over the past couple of years. They ply their trade in reverb drenched indie rock that touches on classic '60s psych and garage. 'I Would Not Know The Devil' is a frantically delivered drive-time garage rock number that totally abuses the whammy bar and makes me wanna jump on a motorcycle and just, you know...ride off and not come back (probably a wise idea considering my workload nowadays). Flip it and you get a way more laid back affair that utilises acoustic guitar, harmonica and simple (yet fantastically produced) drums to create a blissful psychedelic pop masterpiece. Really like this one. Probably the best track I've heard by the band.

It is an absolute pleasure for us to announce that the next instalment in the SEXBEAT 7” series will come from pillars of a blossoming San Francisco garage rock community The Fresh & Onlys

This 7” release will contain two new and exclusives songs in the shape of ‘I Would Not Know The Devil’ and ‘Strangers (You & Me)’… the former is a brash psychedelic jam that reminds us of ‘Fire Of Love’ era Gunclub while ‘Strangers (You & Me) is an altogether more subtle and delicate affair.
