Zombi - Slow Oscillations/ Slow Oscillations (demo version)

Static caravan bless the people of the UK with a 7” vinyl pressing of 'Slow Oscillations' from the duo's current LP 'Escape velocity'. Packaged in a tasteful black and silver sleeve, this little beauty has been put together to coincide with their only UK show of 2011 (an appearance at Supersonic if you're interested) and features 'Slow Oscillations' plus a demo version of the same track on the B-side. Not the best track on 'Escape Velocity' but certainly a highlight, 'Slow Oscillations' sees Steve Moore on fine compositional form crafting what can only be described as a powerful arpeggio driven soundtrack to a non-existent but totally awesome Sci-Fi movie. The demo version is very tastefully put together with more variation in the melodic structure and a notable absence of live beats. I like both versions equally and there's enough difference to make this a worthwhile purchase. Also makes a fantastic substitute if like me, you are having trouble getting hold of a copy of the new LP.
