Wow. Tri-Angle are whacking 'em out at the mo. After Ayshay last week we've got Water Borders this week. It's a non stop juggernaut pile-driving into your head right now so cover your face or something. Anyway when this started it reminded me a little of mid 80's Depeche Mode (Master & Servant) until the tribal drums and bass came in that is. This has an early 80's feel to it though with the vocals (and melodies) taking a lot from that era. There's a big African tribal influence throughout the album with some very bassy complex rhythms supporting the music over some very strange noises and like I said, there's those low-in-the-mix 80's vocals. Just hit track three, it's gone slow and the vocals have changed sex and it's like some slowed down 80's rave classic all of a sudden. It's a weird hotchpotch of goth, 80's pop, classic dance tunes, bass music, industrial music and tribal rhythms. If that appeals then youknowsawhattodo.
