A.K.A - the Alps go pop! This newie from the Sic Alps is really catchy and dare I say...accessible, destined to be a hit on the old hit parade? Rubbing shoulders with Dan Fogelberg, Smokey and Bonnie Raitt? Maybe not, but nonetheless this is a single that has hooks and a sweet, laid back guitar riff. It reminded me of someone like The Beta Band, but without the "...stitch that Jimmy..." and electronica elements. It's a really catchy tune and one I found myself singing out loud in the office. The flip side's a more raucous affair and it's called "Cambridge Vagina" and I'm not sure I understand the subtext...if there is any...and I felt really rude writing "vagina"...I haven't felt that rude since I had to write "titmouse" in high school. It's (in my opinion) not as immediate as the title track track but fans of Sic Alps will consider it a "boss tune". A solid catchy single that keeps on giving.

· Recorded by Eric at Bauer Mansion, with Mike and
Noel on the music, this ‘Battery Townsley’ single is
a salty spray of ear candy, a blitz for Autumn to
aid your shaking around the record player.

· Sic Alps’ sound could be described as a
combination of early Nineties lo-fi and Bay Area
Sixties psychedelia.
