Buffalo Tom - Down / She's Not Your Thing

Down / She's Not Your Thing by Buffalo Tom

Dead excited about Buffalo Tom returning to the scene but I'm yet to hear any of their new material. I'm a lazy lad. Saying that, this sounds like an oldy. The opening chords sound so familiar... Anyway, bit of background for you. This 7" was recorded at Boston's 25-year-old Q Division Studios, a old analogue only set-up where the studio invite artists to come and lay down tracks which they then release in-house as part of their 'Rock And Soul 7 series'. It's a kind of celebration of the studio led labels of the '50s and '60s but, you know, now. This is also reflected in the aesthetic of the 7" sleeve. 'Down' and 'She's Not Your Thing' sound like classic slices of emotive Boston based rock you'd associate with Buffalo Tom though the B-side definitely highlights the bands hitherto unacknowledged country rock influence. Comes on sweet blue vinyl and includes a download.

New single on the Q-Dee Rock And Soul Series, wherein Boston’s 25-year-old Q Division Studios invite classic live performers in to use their vintage analogue gear to produce unique limited run 45rpm singles recalling the days when record labels were synonymous with the studios that ran them. Fans of the seminal Boston rock trio Buffalo Tom's early 90s classics such as ‘I'm Allowed’, ‘Taillights Fade’, ‘Soda Jerk’, ‘Tree House’, ‘Birdbrian’ and ‘Sunflower Suit’ will love this fresh piece of vinyl to wear down with multiple plays. For those just discovering them, equally obsessive delights are in store. This 7-inch is a premium direct metal master dark blue pressing and includes a free download code, presented in a beautiful individually numbered toploading cardboard jacket, limited to 500 pieces.
