Paul Weller - Starlite

Starlite by Paul Weller

"A little treat for the dancefloor over the summer months WELLER – STARLITE!

Paul Weller is no stranger to more discerning clubs, with genuine nuggets such as the Juan Atkins remix of Style Council’s ‘Promised Land’ in his back catalogue and tracks like ‘Kosmos’ and Brendan Lynch’s re-working of ‘Wild Wood’ all featuring heavily at legendary nights such as the Heavenly Social over the years. Now with ‘Starlite’, Weller flips the script again, producing a brand new soundtrack for the long hot summer!

Weller speaks ""Here's a brand new track called ""Starlite"" in time for the summer. It's not from the forthcoming album, it's just for NOW! It's part Balearic beat, poetry and psychedelic music. I hope you like it. PWx""

First up for remix duty are DFA/Permanent Vacation stars Black Van, the duo of Kris Menace and KoweSix. Teasing out the intro, before dropping a chugging disco beat, sparkling synth pads and the song’s chorus for maximum cosmic disco effect.

Keeping things frosty, Russia’s D-Pulse deliver a chilled out remix, all downtempo skittering drums and gentle bleeps and beeps that builds to a mesmerizing conclusion. Finally the funkiest Norwegians currently active in dance music, Drop Out Orchestra, complete the package with one of their trademark extended live disco workouts. 8 minutes of cowebell, horns, strings and analogue synthesizers, will have you checking the label to make sure you haven’t stumbled across some long forgotten classic.

12” Vinyl in pink Island bag limited to 3000.
