Righto, here we have the fourth self released, self recorded 7" from Edinburgh's 'premier underground band' My Electric Love Affair. They kick things of with a brooding shoegaze jam in the vein of Brian Jonestown Massacre. It's let down slightly by the recording which doesn't quite capture the psych'd out bliss of the wah/space echo riff that leads the track. They should have ramped those settings up to 11 and let this baby fly. Flip it and we are treated to the laid back psych pop vibe of 'Seventh Sense'. This one features warm organ lines, jangly guitars and light as a feather female vocals that sit somewhere between lo-fi twee pop and classic 60's psych. Comes in a individually hand stamped sleeve and is limited to 200 copies.
This is the fourth single from Edinburgh's premier underground band My Electric Love Affair. Self released and self recorded live at Coloursound rehearsal rooms during the summer of 2010, the contrast between the two tracks is quite apparent and could easily be two different bands. "If I Lived Here I'd Be Home By Now" is a tale of two guitars. A nailed down rhythm part complimented by an outrageous wah/space echo lead, the song captures the band in full flight. "Seventh Sense is a more laid back affair. Soothing organ drones, the band sound tamed but far from diluted and use a female vocalist adding another dimension to their already accomplished sound. The single is vinyl only (200 pressed) and comes with individually hand stamped covers....
