Wet Bandit by Divorce

It seems like only last week that Divorce put out their last 7" and now they're back with another one. Thank fuck we think they're great, hey? Just like the last one, this is a total treat. It totally reminds me of Arab On Radar and those other bands that were in that second wave noise rock boom of the late '90s when GSL and ThreeOneG enjoyed their brief little spell in the limelight. For people like me who were in their teens at the time, Divorce are peddling some delightfully nostalgic vibes. On the A side of this one, though, we've got a totally cool, wonky, cowbell-laden groove backing everything. Business Lady says the drums here remind her of later Erase Errata stuff. On the flip we've got something a bit more frantic. Ant just said it's a little bit Melt Banana. It's making me think of the criminally underrated Le Shok. You're probably getting a pretty decent idea if you'll dig this or not by now. Basically if you're into noise punk you can shake your ass to you'll find a lot to like here.

Divorce are a four-piece, Glasgow-based band) who formed in 2008, having no more of an exacting agenda than just MAKE NOISE and MAKE IT GOOD. The end result has been likened to a mixture of the no-wave noise made by DNA and Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, the sheet-steel brutality of Big Black and Swans and the more modern, damaged art-punk of Arab On Radar, Erase Errata and AIDS Wolf.

They have shared stages with the likes of HEALTH, Chrome Hoof, Part Chimp, Male Bonding, Deerhoof and have toured the UK numerous times with bands like Child Abuse, Comanechi. Full colour gatefold sleeve 7"

"HA! Fantastic blast of no wave thrash bashing like ungodly offspring sprung from Cuntzilla's incubator a bloody smear of nasty mutation oozing a sickly runoff of infectious virulence" LYDIA LUNCH
