Aw, there's something truly gorgeous about Tenniscoats. Hailing from Tokyo, this tender M/F partnership specialise in almost weightless, fragile indie pop-folk with tons of atmosphere and intimacy. Last acknowledged on these shores as being perfect bedfellows to the equally dreamy Scots legends Pastels after their fine collaboration, this sumptuously packaged CD is worth the money equally for the embossed typeface graphic design as much as the lilting, soothing music! Never has the combination of a rustic, homely sounding acoustic guitar, a cheery, yet somewhat wistful melodica and a whimsical, child-like Japanese female voice affected me in this way! These songs are an earthy delight - so uncomplicated yet imbued with heart, warmth and humour. If you've not been blessed with the sound of this sparky duo as yet, I sincerely hope you'll want to get involved. A lovely way to start my morning off without a doubt!
