Bitches/ Yuppies - Split

Split by Bitches/ Yuppies

4...according to our on Sat 16 Jul, 2011.

An interesting one is this, pop pickers...it's a split release between two hot new bands. Up first are Bitches who play what they call "Thug Pop". They are a two piece, who have been likened to Black Flag or Lightning Bolt. They are sooo noisy are this two piece (who hail from Oxford...Inspector Morse would be so proud!!) and they play songs with a breakneck intensity. The songs' subject matter varies from vampires, losing your wallet and R Kelly. The way they attack their instruments is quite the joy to behold. The agitated vocals and powerhouse drumming is quite exciting. They perform songs live in various states of undress, it's quite easy to understand the appeal of this boy/girl duo. Up next it's the Nebraskian Yuppies' turn to assault our senses. They wilfully oblige and come at you with six cuts of pure shitgaze. Like contemporaries Psychedelic Horseshit they are gleefully noisy and idiotic. They have an awesome song called "sunglasses" that revels in its own inanity. They have a late '70s punk rock vibe but their songs don't seem to stay fixed to a rigid template. They'll go all folk on you at the drop of a twat and then rip back into punk rock territory. These guys are also loud and make music that assaults your earholes with no thought for your safety. This split is one hell of an offering that will get many people hot under their collars. Limited to 500 copies...a fucking rock and roll feast...
