Khuda - Iecava

Iecava by Khuda

Summer 2011 sees Khuda release ‘Iecava’, less than 12 months after their debut LP ‘Palingensia’ hit the shelves. The band have again employed the talents of Ghosttown Studios in Leeds and mastering engineer Carl Saff (Young widows, OM, Grails etc)in the US. ‘Iecava’ once again mixes the cinematic, ominous and heaviness of Post-Metal with all the climaxes and breakdowns condensed into a concise thirty-five minutes of noise. Khuda are on tour throughout Europe in June and July with the album released on Monday 8th August through Field Records in the UK and on vinyl through Prügelprinz Records. What The Press Have Said : “an excellent two piece of guitar and drums who slowly build their songs through repetitive rhythms before unleashing deafening guitar assaults on the senses a la Godspeed, Mogwai or even Om”. blitzgigs.de   //  “Iecava isn't about the dynamics, it's about the textures. It's filled from head to toe with the sort of interesting rhythms and ideas that most "instrumental post-rock" bands would skim over in their haste to reach the obvious pay-off. Instead of aiming for "huge" or "crushing", it manages to skewer much more interesting moods like "mysterious" and "ominous".  Kill the Outlaws  //  “joss sticks were lit and smoke rose through the glow of blue lighting as the instrumental outfit fused drums and guitar and conjured up more sound then you’d expect”. The colour of sound  //  “Josticks are lit and Once Twice Thrice kicks in with old style 70's guitar. I keep thinking I'm in a club somewhere, surrounded by dry ice, making my way through the drunken throng. Altered states, this is good. Floating down a long corridor. Everything's spinning. Slightly nauseous, but only because I'm having a good time. The Arthritic Bear  //
