Ithi - The Persistence Of Meaning

A hard hitting first track by ITHI, a New York-based duo. The long ear filling drone of black, industrial, electric sounds. Making you feel as if you're in a different world or on some world of substance unknown to man kind. The noises echo around your head going in one ear and coming out of the other as something new. In the third track of the album, 'Go Forth And Die', you feel as if there is an impulse of some lyrics somewhere, but far in the future from an elderly man of knowledge. Track four turns the album from just a disc with two men making some noise into a journey. From the very start you feel as if you have just entered this new world, and gradually throughout you walk a continuous path from past to present. From track four onwards you seem to not only take the first steps on another planet, but into the future. From there onwards is a flashback, just sounds of noises of where you have just came from. With the very slightest sounds of piano and other Victorian style instruments, you start to wonder if your journey is starting to take you back in time. Finally the last on the album is a huge, and I mean HUGE, instalment of instruments creating noises of a rain forest, very cleverly done. A massive pulse down your ears of an irregular heart beat make you wonder if perhaps the thing that this dude has taken is starting to fade away and is now just leaving him with the after effects. Towards the middle of the track, the music turns borderline dubstep. Showing you what it would be like to visit the inside of a brain, towards the very end of the track everything just piles up on top of each other making a massive sound. A pretty cool album, taking you on a weird psychotic journey.
