Expansion Hall - Left Behind

Left Behind by Expansion Hall

4...according to our on Fri 24 Jun, 2011.

Right, first thing's first, there are only 100 of these in the whole wide world. It's very winsome acoustic pop, the lead track shamelessly nicks the melody from Blondie 'Heart of Glass' I think. This nagged at me all day when the promo came in last week but I suppose a nicked melody is better than none at all. The set up is simple, acoustic guitar, lady vocal and male vocal sitting just behind on the harmonies. It has a woozy, charm all of its own. The B side veers off into Mazzy Star/Mojave 3 territory but retains a home cooked, hand turned, line caught charm. Comes with Mp3 download thingies.

Debut single from acoustic duo, EXPANSION HALL (Joanne Postlewaite and
Adam White) recorded at their studio in London near the busy train lines of
Waterloo station.

The band blend acoustic and some tremolo-style electric guitar, with dreamy
female vocals, roughly in the style of Slowdive/Mazzy Star

It is also the first release on new indie label, Triple Sun Records.

The band have just finished a short tour supporting the single's release, and are
currently recording their debut album, which is due out on the label in early
Autumn 2011.
