Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall by Coldplay

2...according to our on Fri 24 Jun, 2011.

"Every teardop is a waterfall". That Chris Martin is a poet, eh?. I did used to have a grudging admiration for the odd Coldplay song but of late they seem determined to blur the line between their own brand of call centre weep rock and latter day U2's overblown bland nonsense. This came on the wireless yesterday and not realising what it was I heard the announcer say it was Coldplay's new one, at which point I struggled to remember anything about the track at all. It's a bland slice of mid-paced pop aiming towards the stadium but with little or no discernible melody. The B side is a bit more interesting with strummed acoustic guitars giving way to to something a bit more spiky and experimental. Presumably the record company were so horrified when it was delivered that it was promptly relegated to flip side status.
