Mayer Hawthorne and James Pants together at last. I love musical pairings from the good (Lou Reed and Sam Moore) the bad (Eminem and cunting Elton John!!) to the downright absurd (Bono and Pavarotti). They all bring a shard of joy to my tiny little mind. Bounding into this hall of fame are Mayer Hawthorne and his good friend James Pants. This collaboration sees them penning a song for each other and singing/playing/murdering said track. The Mayer Hawthorne side (penned by Pants...is that a good band name...Penned By Pants??) is called "Thin Moon" which is a soulful affair that has a rich, layered sound and ace production. It's late night smoking music. The flip side (sang by Pants and penned by Mayer ) is called "Green Eyed Love" and is also slick and almost dubsteppy. It also has good production and the finest Robotic voice since Awesom-o-3000. It also has a kind of late night vibe. Can't decide which ones the better track...it's up to you guys. The winner will get a free subscription to Chicken Feed weekly and the loser will be digested in the stomach of the Sarlaac over a period of a thousand years...
