Bon Iver - Calgary

Now here's the man of the moment or whatever he is. He's the Shack-Man, Shack-Man Ver-non is what I call him. Here his record label(s) cheerfully squander more of the earth's precious resources by putting this bloody 'Calgary' track from the new eponymous album on a 12" and another six minute waste of space on the other side. Even the sleeve design is the virtually the same. You could easily fit six tracks on here at 45rpm a-side. This is just a shameless rip-off and I'm calling bullshit on this whole exercise. Why no 7" of this unmemorable Peter Gabriel rip-off? Oh, you can't charge as much can you? Why no extra tracks? Errr...you crammed the album with all the filler eh?? I can't be arsed with this awfully over-rated fellow, he's got a fine voice but his songs totally bland me out. I know one person who bought that last sodding unit-shifting album and she despondently stated to me on enquiry as to it's worth, "It's not doing ANYTHING new!" So.......he can stick his scraggy beard, (admittedly soulful) falsetto, Bonnie Raitt (??!!??) cover and stupid piano up his arse. This is the new mediocre and even Sun readers are buying his records now so he belongs to you no more. Gah!!!!!!!!!!
