Finn Peters makes a welcome return back onto spinning plastic with the wonderful Purple and Yellow 10". Following on from his Music Of The Mind concept album and limited to just 300 hand stamped, and numbered high grade pressings, the Purple and Yellow 10" consists of two outstanding tracks, falling somewhere between MF Doom, Raymond Scott's electronic atmospherics and the Sun Ra Arkestra. It's fair to say releases of this caliber are few and far between.
Purple starts out with a CBS radio sample, before dropping into an explosive, brass driven, jetson-esque head nodder. It's like 1950's space station funk made for big sound systems, seriously impressive! On the flip side Yellow sprinkles on extra star dust, with a deeper and more low-slung groove.
Think Can meets Hypnotic Brass Ensemble at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival and you'll begin to get the idea.
