Suave sounding songsmithery from this bunch of Lahndan tahners. They have a multi-layered, well-produced sound that reminds me of The Verve or Doves. It's a song that doesn't ask too much from you. It's not time change city (which is just up the road from complex song structure town). It's not abrasive or swathed in feedback. It shimmies right past you and it sounds all the better for it. The flip side is a remix that is equally as suave sounding. It has enough going for it to warrant a purchase, so if you like the idea of any of this then cough up some earth pounds you feckers.
Born Blonde were formed in 2009, this west London-based five are comprised of Joshua Lloyd-Watson, Tom McFarland, George Day and Fraser MacColl and frontman Arthur Delaney, one of the most compelling frontmen in years.
They deal in epic, heady, swirling psychedelia that transports the listener to another place. Live this takes on another dimension. Soaring guitars show a belief in the power of music to transport the listener to another place and create something new and thrilling. This is music with soul.
