From the relatively subtle to the ear shattering, it's White Hills' turn to have a go at being reviewed. These guys are well space rock. They fly through different dimensions on a spaceship made from RIFFS. They also have enough going for them that the quieter moments seem to be as important as the pummeling parts. The quieter moments are trippy and effects laden. The louder parts sound like a more lo-fi Hawkwind. The louder stuff is also effects laden but packs a quality punch...a bit like Mel Gibson (...ask his ex wife). The album starts very promisingly and takes you on an adventure into the uncharted territory known as space. It ebbs and flows like a river made of space jizz. It's a heady trip is this album. It sounds rich and layered. The music has a really hypnotic quality. It draws you in with BIG RIFFS and cosmic dynamics. It's sometimes steady, other moments are completely unhinged. It's a real space rock album. It has driving bass and hypnotic drums. Most of this record is like flying through galaxies with nowt but 12 tabs of LSD and Lemmy's disembodied head telling you tales of cosmic folklore. All said and done it's a very good space rock record that will delight psych-rock fans and acid casualties across the galaxy...pass that space bong.

· “The trio continues down the path to space rock ecstasy
with an arsenal of heavy riffs, stratospheric effects and the
usual pummeling beat tethering things to the ground. Just
as exploratory as their 2010 S/T album, ‘H-p1’ stretches
the spaced template the band has built itself on, adding
the extra push of synths to pull them further into the eye
of prog, metal and sonic fury” - Raven Sings the Blues.
· “One of the years gnarliest psych slabs – a schizophrenic
trip through Acid Mothers Temple riff bludgeon, Boris
chug, shaggy pseudo-grunge, and tender bursts of
formless noise” – Village Voice.
