Kinda like Kitty, Daisy & Lewis's attitude. For a start they prefer to use their own home studio and record to analogue tape rather than piss about with computers all day and on top of that they make shamelessly unfashionable music that sits somewhere between pop, soul, R&B and classic Rock'n'Roll. Lead track 'Messing With My Life' could almost be taken as a funk track if it wasn't for the amateurish nature of the group's playing abilities. This is no dis to the K,D&L though as shambolic playing technique often yields incredibly charming results that would be hard to capture under different circumstances (they're one of those musical families if you hadn't already sussed that out). Flip it and you get 'Coco Nuts', a track that was apparently recorded direct to vinyl live!!! These are some lucky kids I tell yer! Surely any regular mortal would need a Delorean and a pair of 3D glasses if they wanted to pull off a similar move. It's a loose instrumental jam that doesn't go anywhere in particular (though it does remind me of some of the music in Super Mario Land) but just the novelty of recording live, direct to disk is enough to keep me amused. It's totally understandable that these kids are so popular nowadays.
· Second single from the hotly anticipated album ‘Smoking In Heaven’.
· ‘Messing With My Life’ is an obvious crossover single for the band. A
standout track on the album, it touches on Soul, R&B, Blues and
Rock n’ Roll.
· The 7” & 10” vinyl records will continue the series of previous singles
which fast become collectors items.
· First editions of the ‘I’m So Sorry’ single sold out in days.
· B Side ‘Coco Nuts’ was recorded live to vinyl disc in Soho’s Riflemaker
studios.
· The new album consists entirely of original material written by the band and recorded/produced by the band on entirely vintageanalogue equipment in their home studio.
