A couple of expertly crafted visions from one half of the duo Barn Owl who of course had that great LP out on Thrill Jockey. The title of this is fitting as Evan's music has always given me the idea of light at the end of the tunnel, a distant glimpse of sunrays peeking through the fog. Evan's guitar constructions always maintain a ghostly presence and that holds true on both tracks here. His strings seem to emit softly decaying clouds that burst and shimmer into the night sky. 'Last Transmission' has sort of bleak loner vibe to it with a sort of hazy almost blues feel to it. Comes with both tracks available as a download as well as a video of him improvising in his kitchen which I'm gonna check out as I'm curious as to what brand of toaster he is rockin'. There are only 250 copies of this and I well expect demand to exceed the supply so get in there!
