Well, Tyvek are back again. I quite enjoyed their last album and this single stumbles and lurches around similar territory. Snotty Fall-influenced art punk basically; you know the score. This 7" kicks off with a track that flies past in about a minute. The songs are pretty minimal really, just straight punk drumming and repetitive, sloppy riffs, but I think they've put a lot of effort into making their stuff sound as messy and blown-out as it can without crossing the line into incoherence. The next song on the first side seems like the lead track. It's somewhat melodic and pretty raging. The B-side is entirely taken up by a song called 'Hole In My Mind' which keeps stopping and starting in quite a disconcerting way. It's slower than the songs on the other side and consequently sounds even more like The Fall, not that this is a bad thing. Another spirited release from these lunatics.
"Blessed/summer things" and their euro tour with Cheveu, Tyvek is back in Europe 10th feb to 19th of march with a new 7" on les disques steak.
