I actually saw saw this band a few weeks ago supporting King Khan and the Shrines in London and was pretty charmed by them. They've got that 60s garage sound that's so popular at the moment, and I seem to remember they looked the part and had some mouthwatering vintage gear to go with it. There's two new songs on this very limited 7". The first one is a mid-paced stomper that sort of reminds me of the Troggs. The flip is a folkier song with fingerpicked guitar that probably isn't supposed to remind me of Eels and really minimal Spectoresque percussion. Both the songs are pretty good, and if you're in the mood for some painstakingly recreated 60s revivalism then this'll float your boat for sure, but I can't help but feel like I'd like to hear some ideas in there that I thought were their own. That said, though, I probably wouldn't be making a complaint like that if they were playing a more current style of music so I'm probably being a bit racist and should just say that this is a record with two good songs on it, played well on nice equipment.
Two exclusive tracks by one of the most exciting bands out of London right now... ‘All Too Tired’ is one of the band’s more garagey tunes, … a gem of mid-tempo garage-pop swagger that all Shindig! readers will take to” (Jon Mills, Shindig! magazine). Available May 16th!!!
