This one of James Leyland Kirby's many projects needs little introduction since the last album 'Persistent Repetition Of Phrases' cemented it in the hearts and minds of global music lovers. And so the theme of the project essentially remains the same, that is of memories which are embedded deep within ones subconscious yet can be recalled. Alzheimer's patients are still able to recall songs from the past and so this could be a glimpse into their minds. With the previous record these memories were barely tangible and blurred but here the clarity increases. Armed with a selection of obscure ballroom 78s Kirby samples and manipulates the original source material, complete with crackle and the decay of time. At various points within these memories they are clear and at others blurred and distorted. I like to think that if I ever suffer from memory loss I'll still be able recall KLF's pure trance mix of 'What Time Is Love'.
