Buke And Gass - Riposte

Brooklyn-based Buke And Gass are Arone Dyer on the ‘buke’ (a six-string baritone ukulele) and Aron Sanchez on the ‘gass’ (a guitar-bass hybrid). Both members also mobilize a small army of foot percussion, filtering the result through various pedals, amplifiers and homemade inventions while Arone’s supermelodic vocal lines weave through the beautiful yet unwieldy musical matter.

It’s a surprisingly complex sound for two people, and all the invention and musical multi-tasking makes for live shows that are visually unexpected and sonically explosive.

‘Rispote’ is the band’s debut album.
