The second 10” 6-track ep of exclusive recordings by acts who’ve played at London’s weekly club for seasoned drinkers and music lovers, The Hangover Lounge, features : Black Tambourine’s Pam Berry – the key name dropped by the main movers in USA’s new wave of indiepop from Vivian Girls to Dum Dum Girls – who has made her first solo recording. Her haunting a cappella interpretation of Love’s cult curio Wonder People (I Do Wonder). Darren Hayman premiering the acoustic Pixie Boots, especially recorded for the Hangover Lounge, where he performed the climax to his recent January Songs project with a scene-stealing gig. Birdie, who number Dolly Mixture’s Debsey Wykes and Saint Etienne’s Paul Kelly, with their first new release in over a decade. White Town, former number one star of Your Woman fame, delivers an acoustic version of his current single Cut Out My Heart. David Tattersall from The Wave Pictures is joined by the enigmatic Howard Hughes for a cover of Dylan’s Day of the Locusts in advance of the forthcoming second solo album "the lobster boat" (wiaiwya), for which he’s touring the UK in April. Rozi Plain, darling of the Fence collective, hitting the scene with Come On People COME ON, which was recorded in a bathroom in France. These recordings reflect the downbeat, downhome ambience of the club and come beautifully packaged in a handmade sleeve by Pam Berry herself.
"If you've had a big weekend, then here's your chance to relax. Eat a roast and take it easy to a laid-back blend of reggae, soul, indie and folk." The Guardian
