Guards - Resolution of One

Resolution of One by Guards

3...according to our on Thu 12 May, 2011.

Guards is the work of Richie James Follin who, with the assistance of Caroline Polachek of Chairlift, James Richardson of MGMT and Loren Shane Humphrey of Baby Fangs, make catchy style psychedelic garage pop. 'Resolution Of One' rolls along as to be expected with reverberant guitars, organs and slightly tinny recording methods easing you into a familiar routine. It's like Richard Hawley but all Americanised. B-side 'Hear Your Call' picks up the tempo a little and features some excellent drum rolls as well as some convincing backing harmonies. 'Swimming After Dark' is the most dramatic of three but still toes the line with the rest. Nice 7".
