Husband are a lady and man combo from Italy who like to make dark electropop type stuff which they then press up on to - urgh - patterned green translucent vinyl.. Too early in the morning for the green translucent vinyl here. 'Love Song' is pitched somewhere between the tribal and the industrial as far as 'feel' goes and is pushed forward on a curious, but highly satisfying, little beat.. All of which'll no doubt be music to the ears (literally, I guess) of fans of the likes of Factory Floor. 'Slow Motion' boasts a heavier, almost Suicide-esque rhythm track and a more oppressive atmosphere than the lead with its super processed vocals and more overtly ritualistic fervour. Then there's the remixes.. Wolther Goes Stranger: disco. Soft Metals: cosmic synth pop. Mascara: broody, bassy and droney. Sifaka Kong: cut up 'n' glitchy. Kewl..
Husband are Gianlorenzo and Chiara. They hail from Bologna - fertile ground of the new Italian Pop Scene. While Gialli is a known figure, playing in Buzz Aldrin and associated with other upcoming bands such as A Classical Education, Chiara is a dark horse with no musical background at all. Together they create brilliant pop songs featuring tribal jams, off-kilter drones and unusual vocal harmonies. The record comes with a host of unusual remixes - fellow Italian Wolther Goes Stranger brings his Italo House interpretation of Slow Motion. Portland-based Italo Synth Pop Duo Soft Metals shape Love Song in their very own style.
