Lion of Judah by Dylan Ettinger

Mister Ettinger busts out his Moog and his Alesis for his second 7" on Not Not Fun which follows his excellent New Age Outlaws LP on the label. As the title suggests things are in an ultra stoned sounding mode on the A-side with bleak cinematic futurist vibes hitting me, over slow, drawling detached vocals. Absolute beauty of a synth on this one. Oh man I'm soooo loving this tune. Although there are obvious references present, I really do think this guy has some sparks of originality. Meanwhile on the flipside 'Baptism' is all smeared lo-fi basement synths and weird processed vocals. Slow and sparse percussion underpins whizzing scribbled synth motifs for maximum zone-out pleasure. Hats off to NNF for recycling some old Bored Fortress 7" sleeves. Save the Planet, Kill Yourself.

banging new single by this Bloomington Rogue Wizard finds him condensing the spatial sprawl of his "NEW AGE OUTLAWS" style into actual keyboard-riff/basement-vocals anthems. cool soundsystem low-end brings a bizarre retro-futurist party mood to the table. big-hole 45s in silkscreened sleeves. limited to 330 copies.
