Elbow release a new single from their critically lauded fifth studio album, ‘build a rocket boys!’ If ‘Seldom Seen Kid’ revealed Elbow to the wider world, ‘build a rocket boys!’ has confirmed them as one of the UK’s most successful bands both critically and commercially, leading to high chart positions for the album across the globe and a gold certification for the album in the UK in its first week on release.Open Arms’ has already been identified by The Guardian as ‘the first lighters-aloft in history to mention both folding chairs and finger rolls’ and by The Observer as embodying ‘the very idea of home, of community, of continuity’. The track is a celebration of a youthful Guy’s local Parish Hall, the scene of numerous Garvey family celebrations during his formative years.
