May 2011 is International No Bonnie Prince Billy Month where Will Oldham has agreed not to release any records so that someone else can have a turn. To see you through til June is this 10" which follows on from his last 10" released a few long weeks ago. The A side 'Must Be Blind' is one of his country gospel numbers that just don't appeal to these ears. The B side is a gorgeous countrified lollop with exquisite harmonies and a superb melody before it builds to a kind of Midlake crescendo. Interesting that the better song is written by Matt Sweeney. A superb piece of music, even at my argumentative worst I have to hold my hands up and say its pretty good.
