Cosmic synth action alert. With the world generally collapsing, washing away & burning to the ground around our very ears, it's just as well we have some proper trippy chill-out records to assist in the gradual soothing of our hot, worried brows & mollycoddle our battered Human minds from the unbridled terror of our uncertain dystopian, harrowing future. Personally, I can take or leave a lot of this music at the moment but this guy succeeds in producing a new breed of disembodied New-Age music, similar in mood, if not structure to what fellow Belgian Dolphins Into The Future does. Side 'A' is generally built from bloopy looped & shimmering waves of ambience, recalling a slow codeine-tinged swim through a psychedelic coral reef. Flip over and you're in murkier, eerier pastures that nevertheless burble & murmur with tantalising & exotic sounds. It all concludes with a gravelly fuzzed-out drone piece that has some proper tasty aquatic threads woven into the submerged tapestry. I'd like to hear this one thundering out over a big fat sound system.

Second album from Belgian synthscaper Hans Dens, following up the highly acclaimed Future Life LP from 2010 (Aguirre Records). While being rooted in the Belgian underground alongside acts like Orphan Fairytale and Dolphins Into The Future, Innercity brings a more dystopic and bleak approach to the table with it's monotonous and rhythmic set of sounds. With a strange sense of melancholia and hopelessness, Innercity on Backworld invites the listener to a intriguing maze-like journey. 6 tracks. Recorded August 2010 in Antwerp. Mastered by Viktor Ottosson. Edition of 300 copies. Co-release with Ikuisuus.

"Sound slowly takes over the time dimension which is uncovered unreal so we will have to get used to some kind of space-sound reality environment with no chronological order of events. New space be further defined as communication develops and backworlds be unveiled." - from the rare dialogues with Draak Jagers anno 2017

"Le complément de l'énergie était là, déjà présent dans la pensée de son Créateur." - R. Garcet in "Les Apocalypses"
