Local Girls - Wedding Jitters

Wedding Jitters by Local Girls

3...according to our on Thu 05 May, 2011.

I play in a beat combo. I used to play drums, now I play the washbard (it's like a washboard, but with more sonnets). My group 'Three Jacks & A Jill' played with these Lahndoners at some venue. I thought they were quite intriguing in an old fashioned kind of way. They have slinked there way into my listening space now with a 4 track EP that sometimes is good and other times horrid. The good comes from the excellent Kitty (Is A Bad Kitty). It reminds me of classic rock mixed with a duet between Robert Palmer and Louise Wiener. Its quite a good song! The horrid comes from the track called Girlfriends/Pornstars (built around the vocal hook "Girlfriends/Pornstars/Girlfriends that wanna be Pornstars ...) It seems to last about 27 years does this track. When I first heard it in a live enviroment I wanted to kill cats, when I heard it on record I wanted to kill rare animals. Mebbe I just dont get it. Anyway the rest of the EP is great. Just be aware of that song...if you do happen to hear that song make sure you have a Panda and gun to hand....good stuff meets bad stuff ...

Described by some as posh girl vocals backed by 3 potential rapists,  Local Girls return by royal disappointment to commemorate the forth coming  nuptials of William & Karen with The Wedding Jitters E.P. 4 emotionally broken tracks for your listening pleasure that explore the fragile sanctity of marriage and misguided sexual exploration; backed with hard, unforgiving Jesus Lizard style buzzsaw guitars and mocking blondesque vocals. Lead track Polished kicks off like the archetypal “It” girl teetering in high heel shoes, giving us a taste of what is to come from forthcoming full length album Dirty Fingers later in the year. Includes exclusive tracks Kitty is a Bad Kitty (a vocal duet featuring Steve Morricone from The Scaramanga Six), 7 Salty Seas and Girlfriends/Pornstars. Engineered and produced by Jon Clayton (Vic Galloway & The Subway Sect/David Cronenberg's Wife) purchasers of the limited vinyl will also receive an exclusive download & secret track.
