Ahhhh close my eyes and I'm transported from this dingy office into green pastures as opener 'After Catalunya' evokes pastoral scenes with its delicate ambience and meandering almost folky guitar. This is the work of the talented Richard Birkin Of Derby who plays guitar, piano, loop pedals and also sings. You just get the feeling that an incredible amount of work, effort, passion and soul has been put into the albums creation. At times there are modern classical sounds fused with post-rock, ambient folk etc. but the sound as a whole defies those categories and I can see it very much appealing to fans of Epic 45, Hood, Declining Winter and all those experimental pastoral indie good guys. Comes in lovely screened numbered packaging in an edition of 500 copies.

The new album from Emphemetry features ambient swells of guitars, intimate folk songs, a string quartet, strange sounds, tape delay, reverse loops, pianos, and a haunted acappella quintet.

"A quality production full of many surprises and exquisite tracks which will undoubtedly be on my top 10 list of 2011. Everyone with an interest in the modern ambient/post-rock/folk crossover genres should have this on their shelves" - Saravan Music

Available on 12" 180g vinyl (ltd. 250 copies) on Triste, or CD (ltd. 500) in hand-made, screened, stamped and numbered packaging on TTO, and also cassette on new label Tapes Tapes Tapes.
