...according to our Dave on Thu 31 Mar, 2011.
Leeds's own hit parade shakers return with what is their 3rd album...by which I mean this is the third time they have recorded an album. There first album had some alright pop songs on it. The second one wasn't as good (according to my man on the inside). This album is a kind of progression for the lads. A lot of the new songs seem to have been born in the same breeding ground as some of the new Strokes material. It's part rocky with the occasional electro sheen (who is Charlie Sheen's cyborg brother). All the songs have rabble rousing choruses and a certain energy that will have lads everywhere singing while clutching bottles of Wifebeater. It's a well produced affair with a lot of songs on it...well 10 songs. Some of the vocal hooks are quite good in an obvious way. Some of the drumming is cock on as well. I reckon it's a better record than The Strokes newie. At least the P Diddy's aren't all married to models and wear sunglasses indoors... a solid record that will make Dance To The Radio some much needed summer dorrahs.
