Relmic Statute - A Cognitive Trail of Abstraction

A Cognitive Trail of Abstraction by Relmic Statute

Hibernate's postcard series is looking and sounding really lovely, with 3" discs mounted on postcards and numbered of just 100 copies. I'm fairly sure by the time most read these words this disc will be sold out > but it's worth highlighting how good this, and indeed all of David Horners' output is. If you miss out here then I totally recommend tracking down David's back catalogue as he's a fantastically gifted artist. 'nadjof stahlberg 1953 (v.1 LV.rc30 variation)' opens with field recordings of birds gently cooing and tweeting away beneath magical, sparkling, delicate glockenspiel keys, evoking memories of summer woodland picnics, getting off your bike and splashing sweaty faces with ice-cold spring water from a gently flowing stream. 'Water Colours' is all emotive guitar plucking with brief field recording intermissions and laid back, down-tempo beats, again conjuring up a lazy summer...  Some most soulful moments to be heard here along with subtle additional electronic abstractions. 'm' has field recordings of flowing water, blissed ambient moods and yet more lush restrained and controlled guitar picking. Followers of the Moteer label will no doubt find some pleasure with this disc. Both pastoral and very earthy with a perfect balance of calmed electronics. 'Idea9' ends proceedings with a thought provoking dialogue sample and even deeper atmosphere than the previous tracks. A muted half-smothered kick drum underpins a stoned, almost dubbed out number with distant crackles and drips that play tricks on the ears. This one is well deep and echoes the overall reflective mood of the EP. Mastered by Wil Bolton of AKA Cheju. Tranquil and blissed out to maximum levels.

First release of the postcard series, a limited edition of 100 3" CDr attached to a hand numbered postcard.
