Addison Groove - Work It / Sexual

Work It / Sexual by Addison Groove

4...according to our on Thu 10 Mar, 2011.

This is the alias of headhunter and handling the sleeve I'm noticing a theme. The first Addison Groove sleeve artwork was a tribute to Chicago's Trax label and the tunes were heavily Chicago influenced. This beast is a homage to Detroit's Underground Resistance and the cuts are lean electro numbers inspired by the D. Work it builds a sinister groove with pitched down vocal, rim-shots, 808 cowbell and itchy slowly mutating squelchy acid bassline. It recalls the likes of DJ Godfather, Ectomorph, Aux 88 and all that good stuff. 'Sexual' is what I'd call PROPER electro-house with it's slinky soulful groove and synth that recalls James Stinson's The Other People Place sound and ultra crisp dry snares. I dig both tunes but am left wanting just that little bit more from them. 180g vinyl.

Loefah’s label Swamp 81 and Addison Groove combine again... dominating the dancefloors of underground music venues all over the
world. 180 gram Vinyl.
