Whats in a name? Well a lot actually. These lot have a terrible one that immediately puts you off but I suppose My Bloody Valentine could take some getting used to (more of them later). But put the needle on the record and this thing is pretty impressive, yeah the first track isn't up to much and yes its hugely derivative but be patient there's gold in them there grooves. The main influence is yet again My Bloody Valentine (them again) and once again its 'Strawberry Wine and Ecstasy era but this motors along at a frenetic pace and has more of a rock band aesthetic with relatively conventional song structures beneath the squall of noise and feedback. Does anyone remember the band Drive? Thought not. Ok, the Lavender Faction then. Nope. Revolver? The B side sounds more laid back and with more than a hint of Dinosaur Jr. Fans of your upbeat shoegaze/indie pop are going to find something of interest here.

A shimmer that blinds the eyes, makes lights dim and the first love vague. Going downstream by the river, something makes you sad. This heart yearning travel from youth to adolescence will end when the river kisses the sea. From here on cold nights are warm days, dispair will be hope. Ice sheets are melting the weak heart that is aching. These are our last rites.
