This is the second collaboration between Rutger Zuydervelt and this Australian guitarist and sound artist. The creation involved prepared guitar and sitar from Catlin given over to Machinefabriek who draws out extended tones and drones adding additional sounds and overdubs. The result is really subdued and hypnotic. The second part 'Patina II' heads into harmonic drone territory full of delicate nuances and then more explicit tones and mysterious sounds. This one could really take me places. Lovely white vinyl to boot.
