Luke Vibert returns in his Wagon Christ disguise to present a new collection of funk infused jams of the strictly laaaaiiid back variety. This 'Toomorrow' LP be some smooth Ninja Tunes approved shit y'all. Not super familiar with anything Vibert's ever done but I know he's got the gift, the light touch as it were. Here he fuses all the original elements of the Ninja sound, weaving a typically epic tapestry of sampled strings, cut-up voices, light sub bass, bouncy beats and a little jazz cool to top things off. The skitterings tickle a little but the cunning arrangements and smatterings of library music synths sooth and relax. As with all this stuff, there's plenty of layers and the Hip-Hop/Electro/Detroit informed genre hopping never strays too far from the booty shake. I remember when people used to go ape shit for stuff like this!
