DJ Vadim - DJ Vadim Presents The Electric - Life Is Moving

DJ Vadim Presents The Electric - Life Is Moving by DJ Vadim

"A lot of people can't stand touring but to me it's like breathing. I do it because I'm driven to do it." Bob Dylan

Some things in life one can rely on religiously, like the fact that it gets dark at night, the weather's predilection to being rubbish in the UK, politicians' lies, Simon Cowell still being on TV and DJ Vadim touring. Not that there is much genre similarity with Bob Dylan, they do share the same passion for live music, and from that passion comes DJ Vadim's new super group - The Electric, originally founded whilst touring his last LP - "U Can't Lurn Imaginashun" (BBE 2009) across Europe and USA.

"I just hate to be in one corner. I hate to be put as only a guitar player, or either only as a songwriter, or only as a tap dancer. I like to move around." Jimi Hendrix

Though, The Electric was born out of a huge international tour, this is not just another release of a tirelessly productive musician but a personal accomplishment from new collaborators. Comprising of Pugs Atomz (Chicago's finest upcoming MC), UK sultry soul-stress Sabira Jade, and of course Daddy Vad. This is more than just sick production, soul, broken beats, or battle raps. More than just another "indie" rap record, underground or some passing star spangled new music fad. This is music that will start a conversation, and weave it with a captivating story filled with emotions, break ups, beauty and celebration. This is more than just the great catch phrases or driving pulse riddims and bashy bass-lines that lay within it.

"The Electric for me are songs are filled with, more sadness, more triumph, more faith in the supernatural, much deeper feelings" DJ Vadim

This is modern soul music taken to the next level. Think back to Soul 2 Soul, Loose Ends, Cameo, and A Tribe Called Quest, but throw in some Moody Man, Fat Freddies Drop, and Sa-RA, and you will be in the ball park. Its got big drums, cranking vintage synths and Moogs, dark moody passages, upbeat moments and some straight up bugged out-ness too. Music from the heart whether its sung or rapped or spoken. This isn't a throwback sound to the 70's or 80's. The Electric embodies the passion of the legends quoted on this page. From Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix to Miles Davis, Vadim has moulded a futuristic, next level amalgam of their fire to create the warmth in your chest when you hear a song that speaks to you. 2011 will be Electric.
